Shankar Mahadevan live at Ekatvam 2017

What’s better than listening to Shankar Mahadevan’s songs??? Watching him perform live!!

Yes! The annual event Ekatvam of Tech Mahindra gave us a dashing start to 2017. The whole event is organised for employees and their families and the preparations begin weeks before. This time it was more exciting as the performer of the evening was Shankar Mahadevan. The crowd just kept waiting till 8 P.M for his arrival and what a moment it was!

He started off with the devotional song Gananayakaya from the movie Virrudh and along with his band, took us all through a journey of awesome music for two hours straight. From fast paced songs like Dil Chahta Hain, Pretty woman, Senorita, Locha-e- ulfat, Kajra re and others to melodious tracks like Sajda and Kal ho naa ho, he kept us all mesmerized. He made sure the audience was engaged by having a jugalbandi with us and making us sing along with him.

The crowd grooved along to several party songs like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Where’s the party tonight, Aaj ki raat, Gallan goodiyan and never stopped cheering. After the end of a song he said, ‘For artists like us it is this cheer and claps that counts as blessings!’.

Finally the most awaited song of the evening, Breathless, left us all awed! When the crowd kept chanting Once more! Once more! he obliged and sang Breathless once again for us! What a performer! Wow, just wow!

Here are some photos and videos that I could capture (the clarity is not great). But I hope you’ll enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed watching him perform live!
